We reverse the rejection of these claims because the neural networks in Fukumizu are not capable of independently processing an image to determine if a mine is present in the image. In Fukumizu, each of the neural networks determines whether the input vector belongs to a certain identification class, each class being a known pattern that the system is looking to identify. See col. 3, lines 33-35, 47-49, 62-65. The neural networks do not operate independently to identify the object, but rather the "neural networks operate in parallel and as a whole configure a single neural network system."
