Appeal No. 98-2124 Page 19 Application No. 08/454,898 13 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 based on the combined teachings of Yohn, Piorunneck and Baechtle. Turning to the rejection of claims 4, 5, 10, 15, 21 and 22 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over the combined teachings of Yohn, Piorunneck and Baechtle, we find nothing in the combined teachings of these references which would fairly suggest a tapered beam portion (claim 4) or a sheet of conductive material (claims 5 and 10). With respect to claims 15, 21 and 22, the examiner apparently intends to totally reconstruct the connector of Yohn to provide, in addition to a back plane or mother board, (1) a daughter card and (2) a mechanism to mount Yohn's connector on an edge of the daughter card. There is simply nothing in the combined teachings of Yohn, Piorunneck and Baechtle which would fairly suggest such a wholesale modification of Yohn. Accordingly, we will not sustain the rejection under 35 U.S.C. 103 of claims 4, 5, 10, 15, 21 and 22 based on the combined teachings of Yohn, Piorunneck and Baechtle.
