Appeal No. 1998-0596 Application 08/259,370 obviousness with respect to claim 50. The appellants have not meaningfully addressed the examiner’s rationale with opposing arguments and/or evidence. Accordingly, we affirm the rejection of claim 50. Conclusion The rejection of claims 1-3, 21, 31-34, 36-39 and 55 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Kant, Ainslie, and Hosokawa is reversed. The rejection of claims 4, 20, 22, 24-30, 40-43, 45, 48 and 51-54 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Kant and Ainslie is reversed. The rejection of claims 46, 47, 49 and 50 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Kant and Ainslie is affirmed. No time period for taking any subsequent action in connection with this appeal may be extended under 37 CFR § 1.136(a).
