A method of displaying a multi-tone image, comprising the steps of: producing multi-tone voltage selecting data based on analog image data including multi-tone image data; and outputting a multi-tone voltage having a constant voltage level during one horizontal scanning period in accordance with said multi-tone voltage selecting data.
