Appeal No. 2004-1543 Page 2 Application No. 09/303,991 BACKGROUND The appellants' invention relates to CMOS image sensors and, more particularly, to a CMOS image sensor that can be used as part of a multiple-camera monitoring system (specification, p. 1). A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in the appendix to the appellants' brief. Claims 7 to 13 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over U.S. Patent No. 5,159,4551 to Cox et al. (Cox) in view of U.S. Patent No. 5,144,4452 to Higashitsutsumi and Official Notice .
