We AFFIRM.
I. BACKGROUND
The invention relates to a polychloroprene latex composition, and
adhesive compositions containing the polychloroprene composition. The
polychloroprene composition includes various combinations of additives for
improving resistance to discoloration by light (Specification 2:4-7). The
additives include particular formamidines, hindered amines, phenols,
benzotriazoles, and benzophenones (Specification 2:8 to 5:12). Claim 4 is
illustrative of the subject matter on appeal:
4. A polychloroprene latex composition, comprising:
a latex of a chloroprene homopolymer or a copolymer
containing a formamidine compound represented by the following
formula (1):
wherein each of R1 to R12 which may be the same or different from
one another, is a hydrogen atom, a C1-10 alkyl group or a C1-10
substituted alkyl group, and
