In 1986, the shoe company, Aspri, that had been paying endorsement moneys to BRVC for the Ruth Nelson Sideout, filed for bankruptcy. Around May or June of 1987, petitioner suffered a serious back injury and underwent her first back surgery in 1988. Consequently, petitioner was forced to hire additional help to perform some of the duties connected with BRVC that petitioner was unable to perform because of her injury and recuperation.
