§ 33.1-249. Maintenance and operation of city and state line bridges
The governing bodies of cities and towns having more than 3,500 population and the Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner may enter into agreements, upon such terms and conditions as may be necessary, for the maintenance of public highway bridges or tunnels lying partly within and partly without the incorporated limits of such cities and towns.
The Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner may enter into agreements, with other states and the District of Columbia, upon such terms and conditions as may be necessary, for the maintenance and operation, including the issuance of permits, of public highway bridges or tunnels lying partly within and partly without the territorial limits of this Commonwealth.
