Appeal No. 96-3202 Application No. 08/183,464 The appellants have provided three groups of claims as follows: Group I, claims 1 through 13; Group II, claims 14 through 19; and Group III, claim 20. See pages 7-8 of the appellants' brief. In accordance with 37 CFR § 1.192(c)(7), we have selected claims 1, 14 and 20 from the appellants' three groups of claims to decide the appeal on the rejections under 35 U.S.C. § 103. Claim 1 We will sustain the rejection of claim 1 under 35 U.S.C. § 103. Independent claim 1 sets forth a low friction valve train comprising, inter alia, a cam shaft having a cam and a tappet which contacts the cam and a valve.
