Appeal No. 2002-0638 Application 08/932,239 § 103 and embellish upon the examiner's findings here. Appellant's arguments treat independent claims 25 and 31 together. As such, we consider only independent claim 25 as representative. Correspondingly, dependent claims 32 and 33 are argued by appellant collectively as well. In considering the subject matter of independent claim 25 on appeal, we note initially that there is no display recited in this method claim for which scroll bars are said to be useable in a three dimensional virtual world. Claim 25 does not require a single scroll bar because of the use of the word comprising in that it merely recites "a scroll bar." Additionally, the selective referencing occurs in the alternative to a coordinate system for the virtual world of the preamble (stated to be a three dimensional virtual world) OR "to a coordinate system for a camera location." This latter recitation is not stated in the claim to be in the context of a three dimensional virtual world of the preamble in the same manner that is alternatively recited. Thus, the examiner's position in its most simplest aspect, is only required to meet one of the alternatives recited.
