          Appeal No. 2002-0638
          Application 08/932,239

the top of page 4 of this reference that also present compelling
modifying teachings. There, it is stated "scroll-bar locations
are specified in the local coordinate system of the window, so
that when that system changes, the scroll bars need to be
relocated (see Example 4)." What is significant about these
teachings is that the scroll bar locations are specified to be in
the local coordinate system fairly indicating the relationship or
referencing of a scroll bar to a coordinate system in independent
claim 25 on appeal. The teaching goes on to say that when that
system changes the scroll bars need to be relocated. In the
context of the three dimensional teachings value of Wagstaff,
clearly the artisan would have concluded that the scroll bar
moveability necessarily would have also occurred in this third
physical dimension. The scroll bars per se are well-known to be
selectively movable to the extent broadly recited in claim 25 on
          appeal.
We thus consider the teaching value of Matthies as an
obvious embellishment upon the teachings of Wagstaff in addition
to those arguments presented by the examiner initially at page 5
of the answer as to the combinability of the teachings of the two
references. To the extent the initial teachings in Wagstaff

                                          6
