DECISION ON APPEAL
I. INTRODUCTION
1. Applicant appeals from a final rejection entered January 23, 2001.
II. FINDINGS OF FACT
The following findings of fact are believed to be supported by a
preponderance of the evidence.
A. The Invention
1. This invention relates to fluid line systems which include quick
connector couplings, and more particularly to a secondary latch which reduces the
chances of accidental disconnection of the coupling (U.S. Patent 5,628,531, col. 1,
lines 5-8).
2. The invention can be understood by reference to Figures 1 through 11
of the drawings, all of which are reproduced in Appendix 1 of this opinion.
3. A quick connector coupling 10 according to the present invention is
illustrated in Figures 1-8 (col. 2, lines 20-21).
