A motor comprising: a housing including separate motor and bearing cooling inlets respectively providing cooling air to motor and bearing cooling paths arranged parallel and separate to one another; a motor arranged within the housing and including a stator and a rotor assembly supported on air bearings, the motor cooling inlet in fluid communication with the stator which is arranged in the motor cooling path, and the bearing cooling inlet in fluid communication with the air bearings which is arranged in the bearing cooling path; and a vent in the housing through which the cooling air from both the motor and bearing cooling path exit. The following references are relied on by the Examiner: Jesinger US 4,764,085 Aug. 16, 1988 Sishtla US 6,099,168 Aug. 8, 2000 Nims US 6,455,964 B1 Sept. 24, 2002 Claims 1, 2, and 17 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as being anticipated by Jesinger. Claims 3 and 10 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103. As evidence of obviousness as to claim 3, the Examiner relies upon Jesinger in view of Sishtla. As to claims 10, the Examiner relies upon Jesinger in view of Nims.
