            3.     Dedrick discloses software tools for creating electronic information that                 
            includes both content and advertising information that can be transmitted over a                 
            system (Dedrick, col. 4, ll. 3-9).                                                               
            4.     Dedrick discloses an embodiment whereby the software tools embed                          
            variables within the electronic information (Dedrick, col. 4, ll. 16-18). The                    
            variables may be consumer variables associated with objects or fields within the                 
            electronic information (Dedrick, col. 4, ll. 28-29). “For example, the electronic                
            information may include several option fields from which the end users may                       
            select” (Dedrick col. 4, ll. 30-31).                                                             
            5.     Dedrick discloses color as an example of an option field.                                 
                   For example, the header block of a given piece of electronic information                  
                   may include an indicator that a color preference variable is associated with              
                   certain option fields. In addition, default colors for particular fields or               
                   objects, or a default consumption format, such as audio or video, for the                 
                   electronic information may also be included in the header block.

            Storing the advertising information regarding advertisements viewed on the                       
            terminal device on an external recording medium in the terminal device
