Appeal No. 1999-2252 Application 08/780,790 The Examiner argues that Druschel teaches that fast11 buffers can be used to optimize the transfer of data that originates and/or terminates at an I/O device. In addition, the Examiner finds that in view of the read2 and write2 call12 variations "all the elements of this method claim are satisfied . . . and consequently satisfying such a claim would have been obvious to one skilled in the art." The Examiner then points to Krieger as showing the "last 13 limitation" of claim 1.
