- 5 - Alternative”, which provides for the disposal of wastewater through a pipeline to various electric utility, industrial, agricultural, commercial, residential, and other users. Under this proposal, a pipeline, four pumping stations, tanks, connection equipment, control systems, power systems, and a storage tank will be constructed. The pipeline will be constructed in two sections. The first section will run from the sewage treatment plant and reservoir to the base of a mountain, a distance of 29 miles. This section will have a capacity of 40 million gallons of wastewater per day. The second section will run a distance of 12 miles from the base to the top of the mountain, where a thermally active geyser steamfield is located. This section will have a capacity of 12.1 million gallons of wastewater per day. On April 14, 1998, petitioner entered into an agreement with Union Oil Co. of California, NEC Acquisition Co., and Thermal Power Co.
